Mardi and Stan Timm have been avid researchers on the topic of novelties for more than 20 years. They are considered to be the foremost authorities on the history of H. Fishlove and Johnson Smith & Company. They have published articles in Magic Magazine and Games Magazine. In addition, many articles have been written about Mardi and Stan and their extensive collection of well over 1000 novelties in their home-based museum.

In 1992, the Racine County Historical Museum featured their Johnson Smith & Company collection in an exhibit. This exhibit was the feature exhibit for the museum for almost a year. For this event, they wrote a booklet on Johnson Smith & Company, which was sold at the museum. A few copies remain are available for sale from this website.

 The focus of this research has always been to write a book about each of these fine companies. The books are nearly finished and will be published in the near future.
